A counselor says "thanks""I want you to know how much this camp has touched me and all of the other counselors in my group. The fact that we are not even the focus or purpose of the camp and we end up having our lives changed... is awesome. The kids have the time of their lives and it wouldn't be possible if you and your organization did not put the time and effort into this camp. I appreciate all that has been made available to me, my fellow counselors, and the campers."
- Matt, a senior at Portland State University
A parent says "wonderful" "We were given a thorough verbal report, a complete journal of her activities and her enjoyment level, and wonderful pictures (we sent a camera). We cannot tell you the excitement and joy we felt reading the journal and looking at the pictures. They show Julie participating in all the activities (even activites that we would never expect). We loved the way they adapted those activities to accommodate Julie's needs.
As parents of a daughter with severe disabilities, we are accustomed to being told the things she cannot do. It was amazingly wonderful to hear, read about, and see the things she should not have been able to do, but did. Based on this experience, we will be sending Julie to Kiwanis Camp next year."
