2012 Registration will begin January 9th, 2012 at 6AM.
How to apply: (All first-time campers must be under the age of 35 and apply for Main Camp.)
All applicants should read the new Summer Camp Application Guide. This packet has very important information that you will need to know before applying.
We would like all campers, if possible, to apply online. To apply by mail, please see the paper registration directions below.
Camper Fees
$975 for Main Camp
$1000 for the Canoe Camp
$1050 for Trip/Tent and Travel Groups (this includes a $50 activity fee)
On-line Registration: Registration opens at 6AM on January 9th.
Step 1: To apply online, click this link apply on line. On the application form, one of the questions will be to list your first and second choice of weeks to attend. Once you complete the application form, you will receive an email confirming that the form was submitted. ALL QUESTIONS ON THE FORM MUST BE ANSWERED OR IT WILL DELAY PROCESSING.
Step 2: Wait for a confirmation email from camp staff: the camp staff will review all applications and email you a confirmation that the camper was accepted. At this point the spot will be reserved for the camper. Depending on the number of applications submitted at the same time, it could take up to 10 business days to confirm acceptance. Once you receive the email confirmation from camp, you will be ready to go online and confirm registration by making a payment.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis providing we can safely meet the support needs of the camper. We will process the applications as quickly as possible, and will make every effort to accommodate your first or second choice of weeks. We appreciate your patience during this process.
Step 3: Finalize Registration: Once you receive the confirmation email from camp, you must use the link provided in the email to finalize registration for the camper in the approved session. At this time you will be requested to pay the $150 minimum deposit (unless an agency is paying in full). Once this step is complete, you will receive an automatic email confirmation of registration. It is very important that you complete this step within one week of receiving the confirmation email from camp. If you need a campership application, see the campership form described below.
Please note: You may select a $150 deposit or pay in full by credit card or e-check. If you choose the $150 deposit option, you may make additional payments at any time by logging into your account and selecting the "make payment" option. Full payment is due one month prior to camper attending. This includes any monies that a brokerage or other agency may not be paying.
Step 4: Print, complete and mail in additional forms: Application Checklist, Acceptance Criteria and Agreement, Physical Exam, Health History, Photo, and copies of support plans if applicable. All forms should be submitted as soon as possible but must be submitted before June 1st at the very latest. The online forms will be attached to your registration confirmation email or you can download them now by going to the 2012 Online Camper Forms. Registrations are subject to cancellation if the forms are not received on time.

Eligibility
We serve a wide range of campers in terms of ages, disabilities, needs and abilities. However, we cannot accept campers who, in our opinion, may be a danger to him/herself or others while at camp. If you are uncertain about your camper's suitability for camp, please read the eligibility policy before applying.
Camperships
Recognizing the importance of providing financial aid to families whose budgets cannot stretch far enough to cover the full camper fee, MHKC remains committed to offering a campership program.
This year rather than awarding camperships based on a first come, first served basis - we will be establishing a campership request deadline. The deadline to submit campership applications will be March 1st. After that date all applications will be reviewed and awards will be made with priority given to those whose financial need is the most significant. All applicants will receive notification by March 31st at the latest.
The maximum campership is $375 and will be based on a sliding scale. The review team will have the discretion to take into account special situations. Only one campership award will be granted per eligible camper per year.
To apply for financial assistance in paying camp fees, please print, complete and send the Campership Application (pdf form) to the Portland office. If this request IS NOT completely filled out, including all income information, it WILL NOT be considered. If the campership is awarded, we will apply the campership directly to your account.
